Volunteers

We have an incredible team of 40 volunteers supporting every part of our work, from counsellors to chefs, from sport superstars to crochet masters, we’re so grateful to have a team who help our young people feel at home. Trustees

ROB WHITE
CHAIR

Rob White is the chairperson for Wilmslow Youth. His experience includes dealing with clients in a large business; leading a large, national youth organisation and being vice-chair of the international organisation of which that was a part; co-founder & chair of an international charitable organisation helping to rescue the victims of trafficking. He offer help in forming vision, teamwork and managing staff, all of which played their part in these, as they have in his roles as church leader & planter.

KIRSTY THORPE
VICE CHAIR

Kirsty Thorpe is vice chair of trustees and former minister of Wilmslow United Reformed Church – the home base of Wilmslow Youth charity. Alongside co-chairing meetings she focuses on maintaining good governance for the trustees and offering listening and pastoral support for the staff team.

DAVID JACKSON
TREASURER

David Jackson is a Trustee and the Acting Treasurer for Wilmslow Youth. The Treasurer carries out the regular bookkeeping tasks during the year, runs the monthly payroll and compiles the annual Financial Statements at year end. He also focuses on governance, particularly in the area of risk management and brings with him a variety of business skills to help inform the work of the charity. David is also a volunteer. 

LYNNE LENG

Lynne Leng is a trustee of Wilmslow Youth who has had the responsibility of facilitating Care for the Family courses for parents of local teenagers since 2017.  She was a secondary school teacher for almost 40 years with the latter part of her career spent as a SENCO, supporting and teaching young people with additional needs. Lynne also regularly volunteers as part of the Wilmslow Youth Cafe team.

LISA WOOD

Lisa Wood is member of Wilmslow United Reformed Church and Trustee of Wilmslow Youth Charity, and a parent of a former Wilmslow High school student.   Having worked in digital marketing she is able to share these skills to support the charity in various ways and support the Fundraising team.

DARREN MORGAN

Darren Morgan joined the trustees in 2024, saying “I am inspired by the role the staff and volunteers play for the wonderful young people of Wilmslow”. He has been a Headteacher since 2010 and is part of Life Church Wilmslow.  He has three children and is a keen runner and sportsperson.

CAROLE CARNE

Carole Carne is a trustee for WY and member of Wilmslow United Reformed Church where she is a co-pastoral coordinator. Carole worked for 25 years as a nurse/midwife and nurse educator.  She is mum to three daughters.
